Successful author Barry Crowther writes mystery and horror. He joins us to chat about traditional publishing, agents, self publishing and reviews (in light of the recent pay for review controversy). We giggled at times because we can’t help ourselves, but Barry was a super interesting guest. I must apologise now for my children who don’t know how to leave me alone lol. Join us for another cool episode of Twitter’s favourite podcasts Tweep Nation (ok, so I might be stretching the truth).
Today, on episode 32 of Tweep Nation, we are joined by author, writing teacher and editor Rayne Hall. There are a couple of first for this show.
Number 1: Rayne is the first guest with a German accent and
Number 2: There was no swearing.
What? I hear you ask. No swearing. How could that be, it’s Amber and Dionne we’re talking about. Well, Rayne was so polite that we were too. Don’t let that stop you listening though, because we’re still all very interesting, especially when I reveal the extent to which my Alzheimer’s has progressed.
This week, on episode 31 of Tweep Nation, we entertained Ben Ditmars and he entertained us with his amazing poetry. He’s an author who has self-published four books. We tried hard to talk about him but as you know, we have trouble sticking on topic. We managed to talk about roadkill, sex changes and school (interesting combination don’t you think?). Join us for another hilarious and informative episode. I’d also like to thank Bobbi Jo for saving the day at the last minute and doing Days of the Week.
He, he, our guest today, on episode 30, was the fabulous Kelly Calloway: poet, English teacher and beauty salon owner. Boy did she have some hilarious stories to tell that involved waxing, butt cheeks and tents.
Bobby Jo gave an impromptu reading. We didn’t expect her to turn up, but Amber asked and wouldn’t you know, she was close by. We also found out that Miss Kelly hasn’t actually listened to our show before (off to the naughty corner with you!). We were able to set her straight on what goes on and I’m sure she’s a convert now. There is a lot of snorting on today’s show, so have an extra bottle handy. Get those shot glasses ready and turn on Tweep Nation.
Gee, is it that time again? Another week, another Tweep Nation podcast. This time we were joined by Deena Schoenfeldt and Mark Rice. After the shock of Amber’s confession wore off, we almost saw our first marriage on the podcast. It was also the first time we discussed getting your novel translated-it’s actually happening for Mark. His book Metallic Dreams has had some amazing reviews and is being translated into Greek! Deena runs ebookbuilders-a site dedicated to helping indies format their hard work into a book that looks gorgeous on a kindle. So join as as we giggle and groan our way through another fun episode.
This is such a fun podcast. Amber & I were alone (together) today and had a blast! I think I was high on chocolate fumes from cooking a birthday cake yesterday. That’s the only explanation I can come up with for my ridiculous observations. If you play the “Amber snorts” drinking game, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to slam those shots down. If you’ve got not much to do and need a giggle, listen to this episode and find out what Chinese medicine and flying squirrel poo have in common, what I think Amber should do next time she rear-ends another car, oh and don’t forget my impersonation of Queen Elizabeth. There’s something for everyone (everyone who’s a bit crazy anyway). Join us. Go on, it’ll be fun.
Woot Woot—there’s an owl in the Tweep Nation house. Today Scott joined us. He is the first guest who’s made it on our show three times (and survived to tell the tale). He read from his new short story book Tryptic. The short story was mesmerising and led to a bit of a discussion, ahem. Anyway, it was great to have him on to discuss writing, days of the week (the continuing saga) and wee germs. If you have an hour to kill, murder it with us :).
Welcome to Tweep Nation’s six-monthversary! We made it to 26 episodes without losing all our listeners—what an accomplishment! Listen in as we reminisce, argue about days of the week, I read my Tweep Nation poem and Amber reads her birthday poem to Justin Bog. This episode is all about the love—the love we have for all the guests who have been subjected to our questionable sense of humour, and the love we have for our awesome listeners. Knowing our listeners are out there listening makes us feel all happy and special :). THANK YOU! xx
On today’s episode James Garcia Jnr joined us for a lovely chat. He’s a traditionally published author who has had the rug pulled from under him and is now braving the world of self-publishing. Amber and I had fun finding out about his book Dance on Fire and how he’s tackling his new-found writer’s freedom. We laughed a couple of times too (you know we always will).
Hey everyone, it’s episode 24 and it also happens to be our guest’s birthday – Happy Birthday Derek. Wow, what a present—coming on Tweep Nation and listening to Amber snorting and Bobby Jo reading an excerpt from Amber’s erotic short story. I also enlightened Amber and Derek about Skippy, a great Australian show which we figured out is the Aussie version of Lassie. Derek is an author and has written a book based on the disastrous events in Japan over one year ago – the earthquake and tsunami. All in all, it’s still a happy show and Amber breaks her own record for the most snorts on the podcast! Enjoy.
