After releasing one book in the series a year, starting in 2012, my young adult epic fantasy series, featuring sentient dragons, was finally finished, the last book, Realm of Blood and Fire, released in August 2014.
The Circle of Talia series is a coming-of-age story that weaves magic, adventure and dragons together to take you on a journey to an original realm (or realms, as the case may be). The series is in the Chief Minister’s Reading Challenge List for ACT high schools, and when iBooks Australia featured Shadows of the Realm they generously said I was “One of 10 emerging fantasy authors you must read.” (Thanks iBooks!)
Thank you to all the readers who have bought, read and enjoyed my books. If you have the time and the inclination, it would be awesome if you could leave a review on Amazon or Goodreads, and if not, feel free to just send me a message to let me know what you thought as I love to hear from my readers. Cheers!
Shadows of the Realm
Book 1
Shadows of the Realm is the first in The Circle of Talia series. Would I say it’s the best fantasy series with dragons you’ll read this year? Possibly. If you love action, suspense and dragons, you will probably enjoy this. They’ve both had many awesome reviews on Goodreads and Amazon. So, if you’re looking for a new fantasy book or fantasy series to invest in, try this (the dragons implore you).
What is Shadows of the Realm About?
With their world under threat of invasion, Bronwyn and Blayke, two young realmists, are forced to leave all they’ve known to undertake a dangerous journey to learn the magic of the realms before everything they love is destroyed.
The young Realmists’ journey pushes them away from all they’ve known, to walk in the shadows toward Vellonia, city of the dragons, where an even darker shadow awaits.
Download a few sample chapters from Smashwords for a taste, and if you would like to purchase Shadows of the Realm it’s available as an e-book.
A Time of Darkness
Book 2
While Bronwyn languishes in a cell in the bowels of Vellonia and the dragon king argues for her death, the gormons are one step closer to destroying Talia. To add to The Circle’s problems, Leon’s plans to overthrow his brother, King Edmund, are moving ahead faster than anyone could have imagined, and someone will die as a result. The realmists and dragons are doing all they can, but how could it possibly be enough when thousands have already been slaughtered?
The prophesized time of darkness, a time the realmists have dreaded for the last thousand years, has begun.
Realm of Blood and Fire
Book 3
In the final, exciting instalment, the gormons are close to taking Talia for their own.
While the realmists watch, powerless to intervene, the gormons lay waste to Talia, city by city, moving closer to Vellonia each day. As the final battle nears, The Circle can’t meet the conditions of the prophecy, and hope is dwindling. Can Bronwyn and Blayke do what they must — destroy those they love to save their world?
Tens of thousands will die and everything will come down to one final, split-second decision. Will it be the right one?
